Reflexology is a safe, holistic treatment – performed primarily on the feet or face – that helps restore your body's balance naturally. It is a complementary therapy which means that it works alongside modern medicine, lifestyle and nutrition to promote positive physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Reflexology has been used since ancient times and is now one of the most popular complementary therapies. There are specific reflex points on our feet and face that relate to the major organs and glands of the body via our nervous and energy systems – everything from our brain, to our shoulders, to our digestive system. When we get out of balance – due to e.g. stress, lifestyle or ill health – the imbalances in our body can be detected in these reflex points. In each reflexology treatment, I apply specific pressure, stimulation and soothing techniques to these reflexes, correcting any imbalances in the corresponding areas of the body.
There's ongoing research taking place to prove scientifically how reflexology works, and in my experience it can be beneficial for relaxation, to promote positive wellbeing, and for supporting medical conditions. When we're in a deeply rested state, our body's natural ability to heal and repair is promoted – put simply, we function better! With the mind-body connection being so powerful, when our body is working well our mind is too – and vice versa.
